PROPOSED ACTIVITY

initiatives
in the Environment sector may include ensuring environmental sustainability
(including climate change), ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna,
animal welfare, agro-forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining
quality of soil, air and water. The broad activities under this sector may
include, but not be limited to, the following activities:

* Tree plantation programmes, rain water harvesting, etc.;

* Protection of endangered species of animals/birds, etc.;

* Promotion and installation of renewable energy systems;

* Promoting Energy Efficiency concepts and practices;

*Encouraging development & diffusion of environment-friendly
technologies (solar energy systems, improved cook stoves, water recycling unit,
etc.);

 

* Conservation of natural resources; and

* Undertaking initiatives that aim to reduce, recycle and reuse waste in an innovative manner.

* To mitigate the sufferings of villagers located near operational areas and / or other drought prone water scarcity areas particularly facing drinking water problems (both quantity and quality) by technically feasible projects.
